The 'four-star' rating felt generous. Maybe two stars is more accurate. i think there were damp spots all over the walls. It was pretty clear. breakfast happened in the reception area. Cramped is an understatement. it was like a clown car of croissants and questionable fruit.

The location was very convenient. it was near many attractions like the water puppet theater and beer street. the staff was also friendly and helpful. tracey at the front desk even stored our bags before check-in and after check-out. This was really kind.

The breakfast was a bit miserable, with pre-cut fruit that seemed old. there were just a few slices of bread and melted butter. the closet had a stinky, humid smell and the bed headboard was also affected. This wasn't pleasant.

the location was acceptable (right in the old quarter).

the facilities were definitely dated. the person at checkout tried to grab my phone in order to input a 10 rating review without my permission, which i found highly inappropriate. i think this practice explains the hotel's overly positive rating (i wasn't the only guest this happened to).
